Scottish Borders Schools
The Scottish Borders Schools project is an availability-based PPP project involving the design, construction, financing and maintenance of three new secondary schools – Eyemouth, Berwickshire and Earlston – for the Scottish Borders Council.
These schools were designed to reflect the unique character of their rural surroundings while delivering state-of-the-art educational environments.
These schools were designed to serve rural communities and were designed to reflect the modern classrooms, science and technology labs, arts and sports amenities, and open-planned areas for dining and socialising. The schools became operational in 2009, and the concession runs until 2038.
Sustainability
Each school was designed with a strong emphasis on environmental performance. High ceilings optimise daylight and natural ventilation, while modern systems reduce energy consumption and minimise noise pollution.
These features make them some of the most environmentally advanced school buildings in Scotland.
