LAX Rental Car Centre

LAX Rental Car Centre includes a six million sq. ft. consolidated rent-a-car facility; including plant, janitorial, landscaping, and pest control services.

This facility consolidates rental car operations historically spread across the neighboring airport areas. The five-storey facility hosts 5 rental car companies and accommodates 18,000 rental vehicles. LAX Rental Car Centre incorporates ready return and customer service buildings, idle storage, parking and a quick turnaround area which includes 37 car washes, 186 fuel pumps and 224 EV charging stations.

Financial close was 2018 with the project going operational in 2023. The concession runs until 2046.

Sustainability

The project consolidates all major rental car operations into one hub, reducing traffic congestion and emissions in the airport area by eliminating 3,200 daily shuttle trips, also facilitating staff parking on-site into the LAX area.

The project achieved LEED Gold v4 certification during construction, and the facility comes with a 4.8 MW photovoltaic solar panel array, which can produce 8,400 megawatt hours of electricity annually. There are also EV chargers (with expansion capability), and design provisions for renewable energy generation, supporting long-term decarbonisation potential.
