N18 Motorway

The N18 Motorway project is an availability-based PPP project involving the design, build, financing and maintenance of approx. 27 km of motorway between Groenlo and Enschede in eastern Netherlands, improving connectivity toward the German border region.

The project includes 25 new structures, such as a two-span bridge over the River Berkel and an underpass at the Museum historical train railway crossing. It also encompasses 44 km of regional roads and includes ecological passages to help maintain wildlife connectivity across the new transport corridor.

Operational since April 2018, the project has improved traffic flow and safety while reducing congestion and emissions in nearby towns by diverting through-traffic. The concession runs until April 2043.
