Ayrshire & Arran Hospital
The Ayrshire and Arran Hospital is a 206-bed acute mental health facility and community hospital in Irvine, North Ayrshire. Developed under Scotland’s Non-Profit Distributing (NPD) PPP model, the project includes the design, construction, financing and maintenance of the facility.
Operational since 2016, it provides expanded access to mental health treatments across 11 wards, including acute mental health beds, rehabilitation, addiction ward and elderly mental health beds. The concession runs until 2041.
Sustainability
Designed to support patient wellbeing, the facility features home-like accommodation, private courtyards, and therapeutic gardens. It holds a BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) “Very Good” ratings and is equipped with low or zero carbon heating and power technology.
