As stewards of important social infrastructure investments, many stakeholders are impacted by our actions: users, local communities, our employees, investors, public sector clients, subcontractors, the environment, and society at large. We take this responsibility seriously.
Stakeholder engagement
As stewards of essential social infrastructure, we recognise that our actions directly affect a wide range of stakeholders including users of our assets, local communities, our employees, our shareholder, public sector clients, subcontractors, the environment, and society at large. Guided by our values and commitment to good governance, we engage openly and consistently with our stakeholders. This approach ensures that their perspectives inform our decisions, both at the corporate level and across Portfolio Companies.

Materiality assessment
We use the outcome of our double-materiality assessment as a strategic tool, helping us identify significant impacts of our corporate and investment activities on the economy, environment and society through a holistic approach.
Our materiality assessment identifies the most significant sustainability impacts of our corporate and investment activities. It considers both the impact our activities may have on society and the environment ('inside-out' impact materiality) and the potential influence that external sustainability issues may have on our business ('outside-in' financial materiality). We conducted a comprehensive double-materiality assessment to identify the issues most relevant to stakeholders and to BBGI. The resulting topics continue to guide our ESG strategy and KPIs, and we review their relevance on an ongoing basis. Our stakeholder engagement process adhered to best practices standards such the AA100 Stakeholder Engagement Standard and the Global Reporting Initiative (‘GRI’).
